The Bottom Line:
Would recommend this set over any other set in this price range due to outstanding picture quality
After getting a bonus, I was finally able to purchase my HDTV. I went to Consumer Reports Online, and the Sony and Hitachi were in the top 3 rated sets. The Panasonic was rated #1, but also had a retail price 2-3 thousand above the Sony and the Hitachi. The Hitachi rated was the 51UWX20B. After seeing the picture on the 51SWX20B, I was hooked. This set was about $500-600 more than the standard 51UXW20B, but the technology is so much better. The SWX uses the better 7" color guns and once you see the picture you will be hooked. I purchased it at Circuit City. The asking price was $2699 on sale compared to $1999 for the UXW. I found a web site that offered 10% off all projection TVs and Circuit City matched their ad making my price $2490, only a few hundred more than the UWX. Hooked it up to by Bose Lifestyle50 and I am in heaven!
