The Bottom Line:
I was sold on the picture 5 years ago, comparable units are less than half the price now. I love it.
Bought my 60V500A after months of research, in March of 04, the electronics store I ordered it from could not get it for months, went to the big "chain" store and had it within a week, at a better price. Thus far has performed flawlessly, no repairs, no issues, no pixel problems , and certainly no red spots?(although one time I hooked up the component cables wrong and there were color issues until i hooked them up correctly). Mostly Hi Def tv (cable) & DVD watching, DVD's look great on the big screen, but after seeing by Brother in laws 65" Mitsubishi with Blu Ray, it's time to kick it up a notch. Now in the market for a blu ray player, anxious to see how much better the picture will be with a HDMI to DVI cable. Spend $100.00 on a DVI cable 4 years ago, only to have my cable company not support that output, have used component cables ever since.
So far no color or pixel issues, and still running the original lamp.
Use it for limited gaming (PS2) lots of fun to play games on such a large screen. Would like to see what a PS3 would do.
