Produces Poor Quality Videos!!

Pros fast and simple operation
Cons video quality
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Convenient and functional, but produces poor quality videos
This video camera can do allot. First it can store 120 minutes of discrete scenes on a DVD RAM disk. Any DVD RAM equipped computer can read this. The camera cuts and pastes yours scenes, makes titles, makes scenes and transitions. It is possible for users to create a rough video so fast. Afterwards users can load the scenes into and editor program (Premiere) and complete the project.

This camera is on the cutting edge with it's new features. It looks and feels like most palm size DV cameras. The only difference between this and other video cameras is that it can store video scenes on 8 cm rewritable VD RAM disc in MPEG 2 format. The resolution of this camera is 704 by 480. It stores up to 90 minutes (352 by 480 resolution). After it finishes you flip it over and record on the opposite side. The camera can store 999 to 1,280 by 960 JPEG images. A small flash improves the image quality.

This camera comes with a USB connector. It is for still images but too slow to download large video files to the PC. It requires a DVD RAM to do the videos. Users can purchase the DZ 100 ADO bundle which has a Ram drive (GD 7500). This comes with Power DVD VR. This is a simple program which enables viewing, copying scenes, playlists and still images to the hard drive. This program makes it faster and easier to create videos than the tape log programs used with the DV card.

I don't like the video quality which this DVD CAM produces. The background is not good and it looks like a VHS tape. Also low light images don't appear that good. They have some banding. This DVDCAM does not produce top quality videos.

Overall, this camera provides an easy and convenient way to construct videos. but don't expect beautiful quality images and videos.
