Hitachi VTFX685A VHS VCR

I received this VCR as a gift. I have a DVD recorder and DVD player but this unit came in handy for the many VHS tapes I still own. The picture quality is very good and the on-screen menu makes setting the program timer easier...however the buttons on the remote take a little getting used to when setting the timer. It is Hi-Fi Stereo, 4 heads, and also has a handy index search feature which means the VCR places an electronic marker at the beginning of each recorded program so when you rewind and fast forward, the tapes automatically stops and begins playing at those points. This is a feature that I was definitely looking for in a VCR. It also has front A/V jacks so you can easily connect a camcorder or video game system. I use it to connect my DVD recorder so I can transfer VHS to DVD.
