Think Twice Before Buying This PC

Pros NONE!
Cons
Needs frequent rebooting. Has awkward stylus. Not intuitive.

Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line: Stay far away from this headache of a machine!

I have not one good thing to say about this product. Although tablet PCs are well sought of for a variety of reasons, especially in the class room or for a creative process, the Lenovo ThinkPad X61 (7767-02U) Tablet PC seemed antiquated to me. With the new era of touchscreens including the highly coveted APPLE iPhones, why would a new product like this Lenovo ThinkPad produce a touchscreen that requires a stylus? At least, I think that the stylus is required. If it isn't, it is not clear, not intuitive how to change the settings.

Yes, I said a stylus. I thought styluses, (or is it styli?) went out in the early 2000s, the days back when the Palm Pilots were popular. And who wants to use a stylus while using a laptop when they only have two hands that are needed to both type on the keyboard? I feel like I am all thumbs when I use this product.

Regarding the wireless range, although the manufacturer's claim that the wireless range is strong, my experience is that it is weak and annoying. It needs frequent repair and shuts off randomly. This is annoying. And, to add insult to injury, this system is not intuitive. It is a challenge to find how to restart. And believe me, it needs to be restarted a lot! It seems like it takes a long time to shut it down and reboot. It is like I try to restart over and over and not really know if it is shutting down or not. Then, there isn't a "hard" button to shut it down. If there is, I don't know where it is!

This piece of machinery is so awful that while typing in this review to epinions.com, the internet went 'asleep' even though I had a strong wireless connection. It takes frequent interaction online to stay online. In fact, when I started to publish this epinion, I had the review typed in, and I was at 100% battery life. After 4 reboots due to lost connections, I only have 75% battery life and have wasted 1 hour just to publish this opinion.
