IBM WorkPad 8602-20X Handheld

At the top of my Christmas list last year was a PDA... actually, I wasn't aware at that time that there was any brand other than Palm Pilot! A colleague had one and I was impressed with all this little hand-held device could do. Well, I got my Christmas present a bit early. At my staff Christmas party I won the grand prize drawing, the prize being an IBM Workpad C3. I was ecstatic, to say the least!

I use the datebook feature more than anything else. It allows me to schedule appointments way into the future. I can schedule recurring meetings or move appointments that have been rescheduled without having to completely reenter data. I can attach notes to the appointments. The Workpad will also allow you to place a reminder with no time specified on a particular date... this is great for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

The address book feature is used almost as much as the datebook. I can organize entries into different categories (personal, business, etc.). There are so many different data fields that the amount of information entered for each person or company is endless (multiple phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and customizable fields).

Other features include a calculator, to do list, expense organizer, search feature, and notepad. Of course, you can sync up your datebook with your PC. To be honest, I've never even done this because I just don't have a need to keep a calendar on my PC! You can also upload and download email to and from your PC. This is a great feature because it allows you to catch up without being tied to your desk.

The Workpad is about the size of a playing card and is very slim. I carry mine in my purse most of the time but I've also been known to slip it into my skirt pocket for meetings. This PDA would be great for anyone who has a busy schedule!

I am very satisfied with the IBM Workpad C3 and would gladly recommend it to anyone.
