IBM Workpad - Careful--it's addictive

convenient, stylish
Cons
graffiti can be clumsy to learn
Recommended it?
Yes
I've had my Workpad for over a year and I can't imagine how I ever did without it. For days I sat hunched over it, scribbling and practicing my Graffiti, entering mountains of data, downloading games and applications, playing with them during meetings (oops--did I say that?). You won't believe the number of things that you can do with your palm pilot until you have one.
I added velcro to the back of mine so I can stick it to my briefcase and have it handy at all times. I'm surprised at the number of times each day I have the need to grab my little buddy and pull up some little piece of information. All of my telephone numbers are available at the touch of a stylus (or a fingertip if I'm really in a hurry). I keep my calendar organized and I can look at it in many different views. My palm pilot beeps to remind me of important appointments and collects my random thoughts and notes in the Memo Pad area.
My kids like to play games on my Workpad. They like Froggy and Fire! the best. There are hundreds of these games and other applications available for download for free at various sites on the internet. One application I have found useful is one which allows me to view Word documents on my palm pilot.
At one time, I downloaded my email from my PC to read and manage on my palm pilot. I found this to be cumbersome and not very efficient so I don't do that anymore.
My model has 2 Mb of space, which really isn't enough. The newer models have more. I am looking forward to an upgrade, when I can have color and internet access to add to the fun.
