The Bottom Line:  If you need a down and dirty PDA - this one's for you!
You've got to get up pretty early in the morning to make a PDA that's more adaptable than the IBM WorkPad. I've been using mine since the day it was released in 1998. I never had any problems with it and I would go so far as to say that I have compared it to much more expensive PDAs such as the Life Book and the Palm Trio.

When I bought it, the first thing I noticed was the thickness that IBM chose. It is the right thickness for large hands such as mine. Other PDAs are to thin, and tend to slip out of my hand as I am trying to write with the stylus. The WorkPad is much more substantial. Also, it can hold up to frequent use, unlike the Palm Trio, which seems more of a delicate inconvenience than a working business tool.

In real terms, the WorkPad has plenty of memory and the onscreen controls are terrific for visibility. When you use the stylus, the pre assigned macros function flawlessly for anyone's style or manner of writing.

I love to keep all of my appointments, phone numbers, dates and my favorite quotes in my WorkPad. I plan to be using this for another 10 years or more to come.
