So Awesome, I now have a Perma-Grin!

Pros Amp and Sub built together make the unit very compact Great price!
Cons None!!!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you're looking for bass that will move you at an affordable price that doesn't require ripping your car apart, this is for you!
My stock stereo in my car died and I decided that rather than pay $250 for a new stock stereo, I'd spend $150 and get a Kenwood deck that played MP3's. Once I did, it seemed my sound quality was ruined. I lost most of my bass. So I swapped out my 6 1/2" stock GM Delco door speakers for a pair of Infinity Reference speakers and it made little difference.

I visit a car stereo shop who tried to sell me two 10" sub-woofers in an enclosure powered by a 600 watt Rockford Fosgate amplifier. All for $500-$600 dollars!

I didn't want that much bass! I don't want to rumble down the road, but when I hear a drum, I want to feel it! But I hate the rumble throughout the entire song. It works for rap, but not other forms of music. My friend told me about the Infinity Basslink and I went here to read the reviews. Then I went to Circuit City to listen to one and it was perfect. The amp and speaker being put together in one unit is pure brilliance.

Because I drive a 2 door Blazer, I have no trunk or 'spare' space for a woofer cabinet. The Infinity Basslink fit perfectly on the opposite side of my spare tire (the spare is inside the car). It looks as if it was meant to fit!

Also, the subs the "pros" wanted to sell me, had no grill over them. That meant if I went with the $600 system, I'd have to remove the subs anytime I had to load anything in my car, and if I take my dog with me, he'll probably punch a whole in one of the woofers. With the grill on the Basslink, I won't have to worry about that.

As for the sound quality, well, all I can say is I have been smiling for several hours straight now. I am so happy with the sound this thing puts out. If I turn it up and look in my rear view mirror, I can see my rear window vibrating to the beat of the music so hard, it looks like the window is not fully locked down.

It has enough bass to give you a headache and enough bass to fill in the low end and still give you a punch when the drums call for it. For example, La Grange by ZZTop. I put this song in, listened to the intro (nice and clear, no bass, no rumble), and jumped about 3 inches out of my seat when the drums (and Basslink) kicked in.

Circuit City wanted $329 for the Basslink. I bought it on eBay for $195 + $30 shipping. Then I had Circuit City install it for me for $55 and I had to buy an Amp install kit for $35. Definitely the best money I ever spent. My only regret was not doing this years ago!

Classic rock sounds amazing on this thing! Heck, even Usher and Lil' Jon sound great! I can't wait to try the 1812 Overture in my car. Talk about a drive-by!

If you couldn't tell, I'm very happy with this product. It was half the price, less messy (since the amp and sub are one unit), more compact and has enough power to make the hair on your head feel like it's moving!

UPDATE: 3-16-06

Well, it's been almost two years now and nothing has changed. No problems or issues of any kind, much to the chagrin of drivers next to me at a red light who are forced to listen to my 80's music thumping into their car next to me. :)

I STILL LOVE IT! Best money I ever spent on that car - only regret is not having done it sooner.

UPDATE: 11-10-06

As the Blazer is aquiring more sqeaks and rattles, a simple turn of the radio volume knob fixes it. This baby continues to sound as good today as it did when I had it installed and I have yet to experience any problems with it.

UPDATE: 05-23-07
Upgraded to an HD Radio and, of course, still no complaints with the Basslink. I still love it!

UPDATE: 05-25-09
Nothing has changed. This has been the best upgrade to this car I have ever done. Its never had a problem and sounds as good today as the day it was installed, which has now been about 5 years!

UPDATE: 09-16-09
Some idiots broke into my car and stole my stereo but the morons left the Basslink. Thank goodness. Went on eBay and bought the same stereo I had (now with razor blades glued around its edges as a present for the next theif) and hooked everything back up and the Basslink is still keeping me Rockin'!

UPDATE: 01-10-11
Nothing new to report. It still works as great as the day I bought it and its the one main reason I keep this old car running! This has been one of the best purchases I've ever made (as if you couldn't tell from reading my updates). No, I don't work or have any affiliation of the company - I just think this product is a good value and worthy of my praise. And if you read my other reviews here, you'll see I'm not so easy to impress.

UPDATE: 12-05-11
Same update - no issues to date, still sounds great and its one reason I've kept the car this long!
