I got the unit for my 24-hour road trip to keep my 3 year-old happy. It has excellent price for a good quality 8" portable DVD player. It does play VCD and SVCD from home movies recorded on CD-Rs and CD-RWs with clear pictures and sound. The unit is perfect for a long road trip. You can invest additional $15 for a carrying case from local Walmart. It would fit in pretty much everywhere in your car. Video/Audio in-out, phones, coaxial and s-video jacks (cables included) let you play the movies on TV and amplifiers. The remote control is easy to use.
