Weird and obnoxious extra battery/circuit pack......
Pros
Cheap. Very good sound quality and noise cancellation.
Cons
Tight fitting phones. Ridiculous Y-corded battery/circuit pack, annoying.
Recommended it?
No
Unlike other reviewers, I found these to be reasonably comfortable. They do sit firmly on the ears, the only way to get acoustic audio isolation from not-fully-over-the-ear type phones, but I wore them for a 2 1/2 flight with no bother. The sound is very good, reasonably balanced with good highs and a bit pronounced bass. I found the noise cancellation to be quite satisfactory in flight. What I find to be absolutely unacceptable is the bizarre noise cancellation circuit & battery unit, which resides in an oversized pack coming off a Y-cable, supposedly to clip on your belt. What an incredible pain in the patoot, and absurd design. These circuits take up no space at all, and the unit should not be much bigger than the space required for one-AA or 2-AAA batteries. Most NC phones have it either in the phones, or inline in the cable. A bargain for $50 at Costco, but it's going back anyway. As annoying as the battery/circuit pack was on a plane, it became totally impossible to deal with in the car.
