Cons Only 5W per speaker, geometry problems
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  For the money and features, you can't go wrong with this set.
I had this TV for since July of 01, and it has been excellent thus far.

Like I said, this TV is excellent because it comes with a lot of features at a decent and affordable price. JVC is known for making top quality products, and this TV is proof of it. The TV is called an I'Art, and the name fits this TV just right. When I purchased this TV, setup was simple and easy. The menu is easy to operate, and will have your own personal preference in no time. The remote is well built, and comes with options to control your VCR and DVD player. The thing that can get pretty annoying sometimes is the advanced speed channel function. You may press the button once, but end up skipping up two channels instead of 1. Like I said, nothing really bad, but it could be bothersome sometimes.

The TV comes with 1 Component input, 2 S-Video, and 3 A/V inputs. You also get variable/fixed audio outputs to hook up to a stereo or whatever. I have my TV hooked up to a stereo, why, because the TV audio isn't up there like other TVs of the same size and features. Only 5W per speaker. Though it may be suitable for some, it probably won't for videophile DVD owners who must have extreme sound.

Visual quality is purely excellent, depending on what your looking it. If it simply analog TV, it won't do this TV any justice. If viewing from a satellite feed or digital cable, Component or S-Video DVD, you'll see what this TV really has to offer. Unlike Sony Wegas, which I believe are overpriced and over-hyped, you don't notice the scan lines as much as you do on their sets. Another great thing about this TV is the colors. They seem more vibrant and fresh, and not washed out like other TVs.

The TV itself is well made, and it looks very nice. It is a flat screen, so glare is reduced, and viewing from different angles also comes in handy. The TV is also quite heavy, so lifting it or moving it with 2 people is recommended unless your superman/woman.

Though I made it sound like this TV is perfect, which it is, there are also some problems you may run into. On my particular set, I have slight geometry problems, meaning the screen isn't properly aligned, or vertical dips, horizontal dips and such. These are some problems you may run into when purchasing a flat-screen TV. Even though I had my TV for quite some time, I just noticed the problems not too long ago, which means they are quite minor and not an issue to worry about.

Overall, this TV performs very well. Its better than the Sony Wega for what you get, and is priced cheaper too. This is a good TV to purchase if your looking for a cheap, excellent flat-screen.
