Cons
Still looking for one. :)

Yes
The Bottom Line:
Simply put, in my humble opinion JVC has simply trounced the competition.
I've been looking for a 27" flat screen now for about 1 month. I have searched and read every review I could find on 27" flat screens I could find, and narrowed my search down to the Wega Sony set's, the Toshiba set's and the JVC.
Off to the local Sears store I started pricing them. The Sony set was the cheapest, followed by the Toshiba, and the JVC. I decided that money *was* an object and settled on the Toshiba. Walking out of Sears with my new Toshiba and 655.00 dollars less in my wallet, I could'nt wait to hook it up.
From the word "go" something was not right. Although the picture looked great, any and all "news ticker" screens at the bottom of the screen were extremely blurred. They seem to get better the closer they got to the center bottom portion of the screen, but anywhere near the outside of the screen would cause some pretty bad blurriness. The wife and I tried to live with it, but the following morning while watching the local news and glancing at the digital clock the news station places in the lower right, caused us to rethink our decision to live with it.
Back to sears it went. The salesman happily stated that they would have a service technician take a look at it, or I could just exchange it, but the JVC sitting just to the right of where we were talking really started to catch my eye.
I asked the salesman to pop in a DVD and run it through the JVC so I could see how the picture looked on the JVC tube. In went The Phantom Menace DVD, and down went my jaw!
Holy Moly!!
I asked the salesman why the picture looked so different compared to the Toshiba and found that the JVC has 750 lines of resolution compared to the Toshiba's 700. Also the JVC has a 3D comb filter whereas the Toshiba does not. What the heck all this meant, I have no idea. All I know is that the Toshiba and Sony set's did not seem to look as good.
After picking my jaw up and calling the wife over to take a look at the picture, I enquired about the 750.00 price tag. The salesman stated that this is probably the best 27" on the market, hence the highest price. But, he also mentioned that Sears price matches... even Internet prices!!
So 24 hours later I'm talking with the same salesman and showing him a printout of this exact same TV for 636.00 including shipping. "No problem" he says and with a few strokes of the keyboard, the murchandise room is checking to see if any JVC's are in the store room. Twenty minutes later and 665.00 less in the wallet ( a full 10.00 more than what I spent on the Toshiba ) a brand new JVC 802 flat screen is sitting in the back of our pick-up. What a deal!!
We've had the TV about a week now and everything from our DVD player to my Playstation 2 look fantastic. Best of all, I can run component out of our DVD **and** playstation because of the 2 component inputs. News tickers show absolutely no blurriness whatsoever and I find that my DVD collection is smaller than I would like. :)
A fantastic television set!!
