Better than the WEGA? Hmmm...

Pros Excellent picture quality, Hyper sound, variable audio , component inputs, easy menu, PIP
Cons Weighs 101 lbs.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Good picture, good sound, lots of Inputs, excellent TV...
I first have to start off by saying that even though I dont have this exact model, I do have the one thats right below it, the JVC AV27F702, which is the same as the F802 only that it doesnt come with PIP and an extra Component Video input. I really saw no need to purchase the F802 because Its not like Im going to use PIP anyway, which I dont think is worth the extra $200. Though I was able to see how good it was when I went to purchase my TV(F702) yesterday.

Picture & Sound:

Well first off this TV is a flat-screen, which helps keep glare away if its near a window, and there is no distortion because its flat, so you'll see the same thing if you were viewing at one angle as you would view it regularly. When I got the TV home yesterday, it was mighty heavy. Be careful with this one when picking it up if its on the floor, and make sure you stoop down when picking it up. So when I set the clock and everything, easy to do with the menu and manual, I set the colors. The standard choice was by far the best, also there is a Theatre mode for when viewing movies, and a choice mode for you own configuring. When viewing normal TV, the picture was better than before, thanks to that digital comb filter it comes with.
First thing I did after that was to test out the DVD using the Component video....sweet jelly, I was amazed, the picture quality was so clear and crisp I couldnt believe it. The video mode has more than enough resolution to support DVD video, 750 lines to be exact. Next up was the Playstation 2, again I was amazed. I will never go back to RCA cables again.
The sound was pretty good, but it wasnt up to my standards. It only has 5 watts per speaker...so when hooked up to my stereo via the variable audio output, I got good sound. Though the right speaker was a little lower than the left, it didnt take away from the experience.
The PIP mode, which I was able to test out at the store yesterday too, was pretty good. It was sort of confusing to use, which is why I dont care for it. The only other thing that the F802 model has over mine is an extra Component video input, which will come in handy for DVD players.
Overall, Im satisfied with my purchase, and this TV will most likely be my only one for quite awhile. Better than the WEGA? When viewing at the store, the seem about equal in quality when I configured both closely as possible. But the JVC is cheaper too.
