I got a lemon,Crutchfield and Blaupunkt after just 30 were no help

It looks well designed,,,but beware of LEMONS !! Once sold, you also might be stuck.

The Bottom Line:
Beware of both Crutchfield and their recommended Blaupunkt car stereo units !! Once paid, neither seems to care about customer service or brand reputation.
I drive a top-of-the-line 2000 Acura=not a luxury honda brand compared to Lexus and Toyota- Integra,and the car stereo went out,stuck cds,in the second year...so i decided to treat myself to a major brand marked car stereo and ordered one recommended by Crutchfield,the Blaupunkt sanfrancisco CD70 for $400. As i work usually 7days a week,i was not able to install it and discover IT WAS A LEMON within the standard 30 days,,,when i did have it professionally installed i discovered that the ,probably, the ani-shock system was defective as it skipped fm stations and cd tracks constantly.
Crutchfield said they would look at it, but returned it "AS IS". So i contacted Blaupunkt's usa representative and sent it to them...and got it back in WORSE condition than when i sent it !! Not only did the anti-shock system not work on regular Ca. paved streets and roads, never offroad or on dirt roads,but now the volume control was not working, as when i would dial for less volume i would get more and when i sometime dialed for more volume,i would get less. I have had the unit since dec '03, or 18 months, less than 2 years...and it seems i will now have to junk it as it is also now MALFUNCTIONING by blocking some of the cd tracks and not clearing its memory when directed.
I would not recommend Blaupunkt to anyone nor Crutchfield to anyone,other than an enemy,and also a geek ee major with tons of free time to do the self-installation.
