JVC TP-450
Pros
Easily one of the best systems under $650 range. Costs a fraction of that.
Cons
Subwoofer must back up to a wall or else it sounds a little 'loose'.

The Bottom Line:
Great system for the money! Sounds great in small to medium sized room.
I paid $298 for the system at BrandsMart USA in Miami and it easily blows away systems costing twice or more what this did. 5x100 receiver and 120W RMS 12" sub is unheard of in this pricerange. The speakers are also a good match to the receiver.
Even if shopping in the $1200 or less price range I would recommend these as the quality you get with pricier systems is only marginal and not linear to cost at all.
If you're an audiophile that knows your stuff and is very sensitive to loose bass, THD, etc. then don't bother with this system. In this case you're looking for servo-controlled sub with 250W RMS or more, 1000W RMS receiver, etc. and will spend an easy $4000 on your system....and I hope to join you one day! But for anything less I wouldn't bother with systems other than the TP-450 as you won't get much more for your money.
This is a great system! Get a good set of speaker stands and read about proper speaker placement, and you're set!
