The Bottom Line:
This is a great player for people who just want to listen to music. It has great sound quality for listening about half volume. It doesn't sound good maxed out.
I received a JVC FS-D88 for Christmas last year. I wanted a different type of CD player but my parents went out and listened to a few different kinds and found that this sounded the best. I also got a CD with the CD player so I plugged it in the wall and played the CD. It sounded great! Its got great features like the sleep timer, bass and treble tuner, recording, and the programs for the CD player just to name a few.
I had a little trouble figuring out how to set every thing like the radio stations, the time, and a lot of other stuff. The only real problem I think it has is the display. When you turn on the power the display is easy to read. When you turn it off it is hard to read. The reason the display is hard to read is because it is a back-lit LCD display. The only other thing I had a problem with was the actual CD player. When you play a CD there is this high pitched sound when the CD is spinning. It is not that loud of a sound so I hardly ever notice it. If you have the volume over level seven you probably will never hear it anyways. Over all this is a great player for tapes (which I don't use but my mom will), radio, and CDs.
