The Bottom Line:
The JVC FS-SD770 is a great little stereo with big sound. You wont find a better buy (or a better looking stereo) at this price range.
I was looking for a small stereo that sounded great and would help decorate my bed room. I reviewed and listened to many models and I decided on this JVC. It is compact in design, so it can sit anywhere (even on a small shelf), and it has the nicest sound of any of the sytems I listened to in this price range (without a sub-woofer).
The system has a transparent door that sits on top, exposing the CD. The door operated very smoothly with little motor noise. And the variable illumination is great, especially at night.
The system has both a Bass and Treble control which is operated from the remote. The remote it self is a semi clear white plastic and feels kind-of cheap. This would be my only "Con" for the system. For such a nice looking stereo it would be nice to have a nicer looking remote.
The speakers feature only one full range driver which does it's job perfectly. It has no problem reproducing both highs and lows. The hook-ups for the speakers are normal 2 prong inputs, so if you ever desired, you could hook up different speaks. The unit itself has a sub-woofer output, if you ever felt the need to add a powered sub-woofer. To add to the systems versatility... it also provides an AUX input, which is nice if you ever wanted to add a MD Player of hook up a VCR to the stereo.
This little system does it's job very well and I believe it to be best buy in this price range.
