JVC GR-AX760 VHS-C Analog Camcorder

We recently took our JVC GR-AX760 VHS-C Camcorder on vacation. This is our second JVC Camcorder purchase. We bought one several years back (1988) when the product was a "new" invention and the prices were high.
The sound system broke, so it was time for a new one.

There are a few differences between our new JVC camcorder and the old one from the late 1980's. PRICE is the number one difference. Prices have gone down considerably since then. We paid over $600 for a similar camcorder and now prices are around $300-$400 for a VHS-C camcorder. The old cam had an INDICATOR LIGHT to show the subject you are filming that the camera is recording; I miss that with this cam.

The JVC GR-AX760U offers exceptional value in a VHS-C camcorder. The picture stabilizer gets rid of annoying picture shake. The 400X zoom makes sure you don't miss any of the action. Endurance Shooting allows up to two hours recording time with the provided battery pack. When you are done recording, the tapes play back & can be shared in any VHS video recorder using the provided VHS-C Playpak.

This model retails at $369.95. It has a 400x digital zoom, compact VHS, digital signal processing.

The zoom is a bit sensitive - you could zoom from far away to close up very quickly so be easy on the lever.
My favorite feature is the STABILIZER button which keeps the picture from moving. Great for when you are walking and riding in a bumpy vehicle.

We went on a Disney Cruise and Disney World vacation and the videos turns out great - even in the rides where little lighting was available.

I have trouble installing the battery pack. It needs to click into a bracket just a certain way. Guess I will get used to it with practice.

Bottom line - great price, easy to use, not a lot of fancy buttons. It's easy to carry around with you and is a good size for backpack - not too bulky.
