The Bottom Line:
If you want an individually VHS component, and see it used or new, get it.
We Bought this VCR for use with a home theater system due to the cable in/out because our tv only had one extra Video input and we needed one for VCR, Receiver, and DVD.
The quality of the recording sound is great. The quality of the picture really depends on the tape quality, though, I suppose that if the tape was the best the picture would be too. The Play button is large and can be pressed when walking by ect. The Pause, Stop/Eject, and Record buttons are easy to read and the jogger dial for Rewind, FastFoward, and Pause is an incredibly handy touch. The styling of this piece of equipment is great, looking much more expensive than it really is. The remote is one of JVC's MultiBrand Remotes and can be programmed to a cable box and a tv. The size of the component is great too, being less wide than standard VHS players. It has multiple inputs and a classic cable in/out so you can hook other components through it and up to a TV with only a UHF/VHF cable input on it. Also, you can use it as a tv receiver and change channels ect. from it if you don't sport an actual cable box. This is also definetly built to last. I've had mine for going on 10 years and it still does all its functions as if it was brand new. If you came across this while you were looking for a VHS only component instead of VHS/DVD combos which are the only things left that support VHS, you should get it.
