The Bottom Line:
Buy this unit if your DVD is the work horse and you need all the bells an whistles at a cheap price.
THE DETAIL HAS WRONG INFORMATION. This VCR does have front inputs. You can see the front inputs on the picture above. Also, it does have shuttle and jog, and it does have VCR . And I am not sure but I think that it does have commercial skip.
The VHS format is on the way out. So you might as well get a good VCR that is cheap when you need it. I needed the S-Video to be compatible with the rest of my system. I ran across this as the cheapest VCR with S-Video. I am glad I did because this VCR can record Super VHS on a regular VHS tape. What that means is you excellent video quality on your entire recording. However if you need to share then you will need to turn this feature off is your friends do not have the capability of viewing SVHS-EX.
Another nice feature is the timer can be set to turn on every time you turn the VCR off. This is great if you have people in your house that do not know you are recording.
Another useful feature is that the VCR sets it's date and time automatically when plugged in. Therefore if the power goes out you do not have to reset the time. Also the program is in flash so when the power goes out the programming is not lost. This is great for people who are scared to set their VCR's
