I want to throw it!
Pros
Three speeds for FFwd and Rewind scan Nice color.
Cons
Programming is highly annoying Short life span
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Run away!
Maybe other VCRs have these features, but I like-
multiple speeds for scanning through a scene in slo-mo or fast. If you want to skip ahead while watching a tape, you might blow past the spot if you're ffwding at 7x. But at 2 or 3x, it's easier to stop.
And now for the annoyances.
First a little about my brain. I am intelligent. Multiple degrees, but also enough street smarts. I make my living working on highly sophisticated computer systems.
YET,
The programming of JVC vcrs defies me. It isn't too difficult to use. It's just that you enter the information but THE SHOW NEVER TAPES! I have a checklist of 7 steps and things to verify to make sure it records. What you want is not what you get. Even the VCR+ codes have inconsistent results.
The picture washes out completely whenever there is a bright light (such as an explosion) on the screen.
I had a cheapo Sears vcr that lasted longer and performed better.
