If you can afford , buy it. Impressive power will not leave you wanting for more when you really want to crank it up and enjoy your favorite music.
Went to Best Buy looking to spend $200 on Sony GX45. Several salesman spent much time with me. They clearly demonstrated JVC's dominance and had me decide if the advantages were worth the extra $150. My shirt actually moved when standing in front of this system due to the incredible bass response. And at max volume, the clarity, lack of distortion and sheer loudness spoke for themselves. So, I made the financial leap.
Got it home last night and realized I have a bit of a problem. The JVC is so much fun to listen to at loud levels, and my house is rather poorly insulated. Therefore, I am worried my neighbors may get a bit too much of my music. Heck, I hope they learn to appreciate my eclectic listening tastes.
The system set up so easily out of the box. Very clear ,concise instruction manual. I had this baby going in 10-15 minutes, and I am a complete electronic spazz.
Only gripe would be the flashiness of the electronic LED's on the front. No way to dim or tone it down? And no way to get clock to stay on when music is playing. I guess this unit is geared towards the younger crowd so those kind of mature refinements would be lost. But for my 40+ generation, this is a sweet investment in assuaging mid-life crisis.
