I love this thing!...

Pros USB connectivity. User-friendly interface. Display Dimer
Cons gets hot over time, remote doesn't match(blk and silver)
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  this machine is awesome and i think you should buy this thing just for the USB connectivity because theres no allot of recievers that can connect to a PC
Introduction:
I really love this receiver because you can connect your PC to it via USB. Now you don't have to settle for inferior sound quality, through your PC speakers, just because your music is on your computer. Now I don't have to waste money and time putting my music files onto CD's just to hear it on another machine that has better speakers. I also don't have to worry about burning my movies to DVD's now because I can just hook my pc up to my T.V. and have the sound play on my home audio system. So now when I want to listen to my music or watch my movies I just hook up my laptop to this receiver via USB and see and hear it on my surround-sound speakers.

When I was shopping for a receiver of this type I noticed that there really aren't a lot of other audio receivers that can connect to your PC. So that really sold me in buying this receiver. Not to mention a lot of the other audio receivers I looked at are really bulky.

the back panel and its inputs:
Don't be a fool and read the instructions manual when connecting all your components because if you connect a component to the wrong input it won't play and you can potentially break the machine. Its back panel has many types of inputs for today's technology that includes composite, coaxial, and digital inputs, so buy with confidence.

The back inputs include:
(2)AV COMPULINK-III:
for your other JVC video components via Monaural mini-plugs.

(2) Digital IN:
include (1) Coaxial for your (dvd/dvr) component. (1)Optical for any DBS component.

SUBWOOFER OUT :
This is the connection output for your precious subwoofer. I recommend using premium subwoofer cables to avoid distortion. Get it cheap from cablewholesale.com

(6) VIDEO jacks composite RCA/S-VIDEO :
There's six different inputs which you can use either a standard rca composite or s-video cable. [1]DBS, [2] VCR out (rec) & in (play), [1] DVR out (play), [1] DVR/DVD in (play), [1] MONITOR out.

(3) COMPONENT VIDEO jacks :
This is best quality inputs for video-even better then s-video. There are 3 different types of components you can connect here. [1] VCR (dbs) in, [1]DVR/DVD in, [1]MONITOR OUT.

(6)AUDIO JACKS (RCA):
I said There are 6 slots but you can really only connect 5 different components because 1 extra one is for VCR out. [1] TV, [1]DBS, [2]VCR in(play) and out(rec), [1]DVR out(rec), [1]DVR/DVD in(play).

(7)SPEAKER TERMINALS:
You can connect 7 different speakers to this receiver and each is powered at 100 watts.[2]left/right surround back speakers, [2] surround speakers, [1]center speaker, [2] left/right front speakers. Each outputs volume can be changed.

ANTENNA terminals:
Am loop and standard antenna input.

You can connect 7 speakers and a subwoofer to it and have them powered at 100watts. This really is enough power to have very loud sound, and I often have to remind myself about the volume because of my neighbors upstairs. The USB input is located on the front interface so when you want connect a PC such as a laptop you don't need to move the machine to connect it.

Sound Quality
I think a lot of the quality will be determined by your speaker's quality and not necessarily the receivers. My speakers are all pretty decent quality and I notice no distortion between these volume levels 1-20, 20-28 anything above that is too loud and of course your speakers are going to rattle just because of that volume level. The receiver has presets ranging from hall/live to all surround sound speakers. You can also manually adjust the sound intonation volumes, its ranges are 63 Hz-16 kHz.

Each speakers volume out can be changed to give you that extra control over you surround sound. You can also customize each speaker's settings labeling them either small or big speakers. You can also address the room size of where the speakers are so that the receiver can adjust accordingly.

Extra information
The machine does get hot on the sides if you use it for long periods of time so make sure it has a lot of ventilation room. The manufactures didn't want to waste your valuable entertainment space so this machine is pretty compact compared to its competition in its class. The machine also comes with a dimmer option so that you can either dim or completely turn off the lighting. This is a very useful option because it won't distract your eyes if it is located next to your T.V...

This machine really can handle any entertainment component in today's market. You can also change the power output for every single speaker that you connect to it, that way you can have full control of your surround-sound. The machine also has a bass boost, and automatic speaker settings.

Negatives:
The instruction manual can use a little editing because some of the control options don't really do what it says it would do, but with some common sense you can get around that. There's only one other negative thing I can say about this machine and that is that if you buy the black version you're still going to get a silver remote. I like to have things match, but that's really my preference.

Conclusion:
This machine really has a lot of power, is compact and has a nice price tag compared to its competitors. I'm considering purchasing a second one because it's so useful and it's now on clearance in a lot of electronic stores. I think this is great buy just for the USB connectivity. So hurry and get yours today
