The Bottom Line:
Bottom line is this is a good camera for the mid-level shooter. Manual works better than Auto.
I bought this camera after reading many reviews on similar models. The main problem listed on other reviews were the size of the battery and the low-light shooting.
Here is a list of my impressions over the last 2 weeks with the camera :
* I wish the 2 batteries that came with the camera could be charged somewhere else but on the camera. A docking/charging station would be great to include, or even offered.
*Auto mode is great for outdoor shooting but indoors you can get a great picture fooling around with the manual controls. Albeit, you lose the anti-shake feature with some of the features. I tend not to zoom too much indoors so that helps somewhat.
*The 32X zoom is a great feature but I have found that it is way too much for ordinary conditions. This may be a bit much for this level camera.
*The still photo feature seemed great but really my phone takes better pictures. ( the camera is so small I bought a bag that holds both my camcorder and my digi camera )
*The remote is probably the best feature for this level camera. Makes capturing and sharing moments really easy.
*You need a firewire to download video onto your computer.
(though I bought a card with cable for less than $20 )
Since I haven't had this too long I may change my opinion but for the 15-20 hours I have been playing with this camera I am generally happy with the purchase.
