JVC KD-HDR1 Car CD / MP3 Player

Sell your satellite radio stock now, HD radio is free and it sounds great, HUGE signal to noise improvement over analog modulation. I found over a dozen stations in my area and all but one was broadcasting two distinct HD stereo music channels with different songs playing. The downside of this JVC model is ease of use. Many buttons are microscopic and so are their labels. You need manual in hand to adjust the custom EQ settings. SRS is gimmicky audio trick but it works and sounds great even if it isnt real (synthesized quasi surround sound). CD plays MP3 CDs, a big plus for many users. Remote is IR not RF so you have to point it right at the set, prevents steering wheel mounting. The 20 watts RMS per channel is plenty for me, no need for external amps to get thumping bass. I am VERY happy with my purchase. Mine shows FM call letters and song titles, but not on all FM stations so previous reviewer might be right about it lacking RDS function. Go get one, if you live in range of HD broadcast stations you will love it. Great value here.
