definitely not bad for the price...
I was skeptical b/c I had read several reviews that blasted this receiver...and just as many that applauded it. I was looking at it when the good price was $599. I eventually got it on ubid I think for about $300. I just wanted something that had a/b channels and could do the Dolby Digital and DTS... Read full review »
JVC's Top of the Line
The manufacturer's suggested retail price of $900 is way too high for this product. I bought mine for $557 on line... If you want to know where, please email me. But it's not too difficult to find a price much better than the MSRP online.
The receiver I have DOES NOT hiss at volumes above...

Outstanding value with a few shortcomings.
I bought this unit since I liked the large feature set for the price and wanted to take advantage of the compu-link features with my JVC D-VHS Dish Network system. Unfortunately you can not link these two units even though the JVC promo literature makes it seem as if you can link any recent JVC... Read full review »
JVC 1028 will be in service in 6 months.
It has number of settings for different halls which are useless.
Developed problems during the first six months. Sent to Atlanta service center. They sent it back unrepaired. Had to send it again. Then they were extremely rude and they just sat on the unit and did not repair it for...
