The Bottom Line:
This receiver may not be for the "pro" user, but it will certainly get you into the world of stereo equipment.
This is my first receiver purchase, and I have to admit I am very impressed with this product. First off I must give kudos to JVC for making their installation instructions simple. With Technology brimming over the top in today's society it seems as though people are supposed to know what an RCA cable is, or where the AV jack is on the back of your TV. JVC's equipment comes with illustrated pictures of many different system setups. Within an hour I was head banging to Metallica in my living room.
Now I must move on with the technical mumbo jumbo as easily as I can describe it for your reading pleasure. This receiver has 100 Watts of power out of 2 channels. Both of these channels are driven into 8 ohms. It also has a Dolby Digital and DTS decoder that are built in for home theater setups. I must warn you though. To achieve true home theater the system must be setup digitally. That means buying expensive digital cables, and saying good bye to your RCA cables.
I have to say that the only complaint I have is that I can only get the remote to work with other JVC products that I have. This would be handy but my TV and CD player are not JVC so I am stuck with three other remotes to deal with.
