The Bottom Line:
It is a good value and is made for use with the newest technology.
So far the RX-7000 by JVC has been a great surround receiver. It comes with all of the necessary encoding including DTS and Dolby surround. There are numerous analog and digital inputs including two optical inputs. When used with other JVC components the Compulink feature makes watching a DVD or VHS movie or listening to your favorite music CD totally effortless. Once a DVD is placed in the player the receiver switches to DVD, detects the audio format and adapts to it, turns the TV on and changes the to the TV?s correct input. Another great feature is the sleep timer. Whether you are watching a DVD or listening to a CD the whole system will shut down at the time you select. There is an available 100 watts per channel when in 5.1 mode. The remote is fairly easy to use. The display is very clear and easy to understand. I would recommend this receiver but, with a disclaimer that you get all of your other components from JVC (except the speakers; see my review on the AR HC2 speakers)
