The receiver that gives it back

Pros All-around excellent features and performance
Cons nothing I consider a fault at this price point
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this receiver 18 months ago as the beginning of a home theater system. The receiver is really your biggest potential bottleneck in a system as far as features go, but it's worked well and as I've added components I still see no reason to upgrade for a long time. My intent is to build an... Read full review »

Pros Ease of use, Compulink feature, DTS and Dolby Surround, Sleep function
Cons none so far
Recommended it? Yes

So far the RX-7000 by JVC has been a great surround receiver. It comes with all of the necessary encoding including DTS and Dolby surround. There are numerous analog and digital inputs including two optical inputs. When used with other JVC components the Compulink feature makes watching a DVD or... Read full review »

Pros Great step into digital sound
Cons none

There are so many good A/V receivers out there it can be hard to pick one. The JVC offers most of the standard options in this price range, including 3 s-video ins, and enough component inputs for most users. The JVC compulink is great if you have other JVC components. The remote is easy to use,... Read full review »

Pros Amazing system for the price
Cons Not much really, other than a little confusing when setting up
Recommended it? Yes

I upgraded my old Sony TA AV570 Receiver to one that had Dolby Digital and DTS. The salesman here in Australia recommended the JVC 7001. Its the same as 7000 accept thats in a golden/silvery colour.

It runs very neatly with my KEF90 centre speaker and Bose301 Series3 fronts and Dali Sats... Read full review »

Good Value AV Receiver

Pros Excellent value
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

The JVC RX-7000 A/V receiver is an excellent value. Mind you, you can spend several hundred dollars more to get a better receiver, but for the average home theatre, the RX-7000 is more than adequate. Front panel controls are easy to use. The remote control is not too bad. I did find some of the... Read full review »
