The Bottom Line:
Good product and quality for the price. Affordable Dolby Digital receiver with lots of ins & outs.
Yes, another component I bought on ubid. I wanted to utilize the compu-link on my cd player and DVD player, so I stuck with JVC on the receiver, too. That's reasonable, right? But this receiver does everything I need it to. So far, anyway.
It's got a plethora of inputs. All DVD inputs, video or s-video, Aux, Phoho, VCR, CD, etc. including 3 optical and 1 coax, assignable to any digital source. Then there are some sound features like bass boost and DAP with presets.
Speaker sets 1, 2 or surround are available.
The system is surprisingly easy to operate, unlike some receivers I've played with. It's very straight forward on the remote and the unit. The remote has an LCD display alerting you of which component you're about to mess with. Unfortunately, you can't see it in the dark since it's not backlit. But I guess that's a sacrifice I had to make for the price I paid.
If you're looking for a functional receiver with good features and good performance for a reasonalbe price, this is a good choice. If you want to spend more, there are other models, like the 8010 or 9010 in this line, for example. But you can probably find this one for under $200 pretty easily.
