The Heart of an Economical Home Theater
Pros
Price, power, convenience, layout, JVC
Cons
one S-VHS in and out, no component video in or out
Recommended it?
Yes
This is last years model. Which means it has one or two short comings. The biggest short coming is that it only has one connection for S-VHS and that is listed as DVD. BUT. . .it has two optical digital inputs; one for optical Digital DVD and one for CD. It'll push a small subwoofer, will connect up to four front speakers in addition to the center channel; and accomodates separate sound for two rear speakers. All of which means you get full 5.1 digital sound when playing a DVD or digitally connected CD.
Connections are intuitive. Plus, if you have other JVC components this baby will turn on and off as you turn the component on and off. It has input for just about anything you can think of; plus it has pre-set surround effects; will run cable or satelitte ProLogic Digital and all for under $200.
