Selling my Sony to by JVC
Pros
All bells and whissles
Cons
speaker terminals
Recommended it?
Yes
As I first began looking at the Audio Video recievers this past summer I had overlooked this JVC reciever. I thought that it was to expensive so I opted for a Sony STR-DE635. The Sony reciever is good for the average home theater enthusiasts. However the JVC 888vbk has all the bells and wissles for a few dollars more. This reciever could be recognized as JVC's top of the line reciever only lacking the multi-room support that the 1028vbk has. I have had a chance to look at the 888vbk reciever first hand, and even tried it out in the store.
The fact is if you want to get the best or top of the line this reciever is it. Spend a few more dollars and by the JVC or Sony products. I have found that Sony tends to be a bit more proud of their products and consequently ask more for what they offer. The JVC 888vbk has built in Dolby Digital along with DTS where as my Sony reciever only had Dolby Digital built in. I have found a couple of great sites to buy the JVC reciever at a really good price. One is www.ecost.com
