impossible to figure out

I second the other review on this receiver. It is WAY TOO complicated for its own good. The manual is extremely hard to decipher and understand.
It took me over three days of reading and experimenting before I got some of the DVD >> digital coax >> JVC >> multiple speakers to work on Dolby Digital. I still have not figured out how to do the DVD >> digital coax >> JVC >> TV video. I am currently doing the video portion DVD >> TV directly, but pumping the audio through the receiver.
Once you get it going, it works fine, except when you decide to change the tone control, or to change the balance, or to change anything... you can end up with having to set the whole thing back again.
The manual is 66 pages long.
