The least user-friendly medium-end receiver I've ever used!

Pros Ummm...
Cons User-unfriendly multiroom function, digital input functions, poorly designed remote, general lack of foresight in design.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Buy another brand. This is the world's most user-unfriendly receiver.
This thing tries to wow you with multiple digital inputs, high wattage, and lots of features. The problem is, accessing these features requires some training, and even then you have to keep referring to the cryptic owner's manual on certain items. The main room / sub room feature, for example, is not even worth the hassle. It might as well not even have that feature because it's too much trouble to use. Also, there's no way (that I've discovered, anyway) to link your digital inputs to your video inputs. The analog ones are linked OK, but the digital ones are in their own world and you have use the on-screen display each time you want to use the obscurely-functioning digital inputs. I have experience using Sony's, Yahama's, Pioneer's, and Denon's receivers in addition to this piece-of-sh**, poorly designed JVC, and none are even a fourth as user-unfriendly as this. With all other receivers, I've generally had to glance at the owners manual on only a couple of occasions. With this ridiculous box, you need the manual handy if you're going to do anything other than the basic functions. It's so out of hand that we actually wrote down the audio/video input settings for each component because only one of them matches. On top of that, there are 3 optical and 1 coax input. One of the opticals is for the CD player. But when I go to set the digital / analog input setting on the onscreen disply, the option isn't even available like it is on the other 3 digital inputs. So there's actually a digital input there that we can't even use (or at least we don't know how to access it!)!!!!! On top of that, it doesn't even sound that great. It's OK, but not at all impressive for the money. Do not buy this JVC receiver!!!
