Big Bang for the Buck!!
Pros
Powerhouse for the money. Easy on screen(TV) menu for easy sound field setups.
Cons
"Multi" brand remote did not work with my Hughes DSS, GE-DVD..
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
After three months of almost daily use, I love this receiver! My neighbors hate it! It seems bulletproof, and the DTS decoding makes movies come alive!
Overall I am very pleased with this unit. I had and older Sony Dolby Pro-logic receiver before this- I never realized how noisy it was until I got this JVC! Really great sound, easy to setup with the on screen menus, and the remote does everything... well if you have the components supported. I did not find anyway to 'search' for a component that is not on the short list provided in the manual. And I guess they did not have room for the AC outlets on the back..Convienient for tape decks & DVD- but really no biggie!
I am looking forward to running some speaker wires for the back yard- The RF remote will be handy for that- Nice that the source can be switched from the main room and sub room too. Unit does not run as hot as I thought it would either. I have minimal clearance(due to the units larger size) and have no problems overheating when blasting the MP3's! That is such a cool feature too. A USB port on the front allows me to run this receiver from my PC- it's a device to play music.. I downloaded from the internet- I only wish the USB was on the back too. I highly recommend this home theater component to anyone who loves movies and music!
