The Bottom Line:
Avoid JVC products. They seem to cost less. They are cheaply constructed and failure rate is very high. Dealing with JVC repair and customer service is very frustrating.
We had the unit about a year. Although, at first it seems like a good deal, the unit is not well constructed and needs frequent repairs. Dealing with JVC repair facilities is extremely frustrating. It takes a long time to talk to somebody. Then, they are rude and blame the problems on the customer. At the end the unit costs much more than the original purchase price due to all the repairs and time involved.
The hand controller failed after a month of operation. The component video section failed after eight months of operation. The list goes on. JVC goes out of its way to charge the customer for repairs which should be covered by the warranty.
