Wonderful, Wonderful Receiver

More than enough power, great speaker distance compensation, loads of inputs and outputs.

Somewhat dark sounding out of the box, but can be adjusted. Manual difficult to navigate.

The Bottom Line:
buy, buy, buy
I have owned this receiver for more than a year now. I haven't had a bit of trouble with it. It isn't the easiest receiver to set up, but once all the sound and room settings are adjusted properly, it sounds great. I never have to mess with changing the settings for music and home theater, nor do I have to adjust the volume of the sub. It is perfect for driving my 7.1 Def Tech speakers headed by 2000tls. Unfortunately, the manual is a bit difficult to comprehend in places. As I found out, not everything is spelled out, but over-the-phone help eventually sorted out the problem. It is definitely not one of those receivers you can just take out of the box, plug in, and go with. But, isn't that just part of the fun of owning a good system? As for the negative reviews, it seems some have had bad luck with this receiver, but mine has performed flawlessly. I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. No audible distortion, quiet operation, low heat, and incredible bass performance, especially for home theater, are just some of the major attributes of this very well designed receiver from JVC.
