The Bottom Line:
If your budget won't allow for professional equipment (and nobody's truly will) this player is a good value. I've been able to rely on it for 4 years.
I have been really satisfied with my player/exchanger. It has Compulink supported by almost all JVC components to improve its capabilities and has decent sound quality for the price.
Unfortunately like many players it can't handle CD-RW at all and some of the CDs that I have recorded on CD-R don't always work consistently. However if you have a good receiver/amplifier with good equalizer capabilities the sound quality from your CDs can be greatly enhanced.
The headphone jack has a convenient and separate volume control and the remote is relatively simple to use as well as the rest of the functions on the unit.
