Not Sony. But JVC has done it again!
Pros
The size and what it does to stand up to Sony
Cons
The Battery charger is external.
Recommended it?
Yes
This time JVC has done it again. It seems to me that Sony makes these super thin MD players that cost a pretty pennie. Yet this JVC player can probably match the Sony MD players, and cost much less at a get size.
I had won this unit over ebay, in new condition. And for all you Sony fans. Change over to the JVC style. This player features 40 seconds of skip free memory. Backlit remote which can display ten characters! (that is one more then Sony's best remotes which allows your only to display nine)
QUESTION: So big deal. The remote can have 1 more character. What else
does the remote have?
ANSWER: Well, the remote has fairly large buttons for easy scrolling. But
personally I like the JVC remote better, it just looks cooler.
Now most MD players have 40 seconds of anti-shock memory, but no matter what anyone says or if you read it from another epinion. This player will not skip unless it is smashed onto the floor, or thrown against the wall, or really really old, or been beaten up pretty bad, and you get that idea.
There is a problem with this player. It seems that you most remove the battery from the player to recharge it in an external recharger unlike most players where is has an internal charger.
The player is about 2 MD cases thick and can easily slip into a pant pocket. Overall this is a great player and I recommand this player to anyone.
