Good player and features with value but with a fatal flaw......
Pros
FAST to play disc! Lots of great features. Nice remote.
Cons
Very jerky background at random when image is panning or on screen movement. Very annoying!
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
I couldn't recommend this unit to anyone wanting a smooth, stable picture. Once you notice the flaw, it stands out in nearly every scene that involves motion.
I have owned several JVC DVD players before this unit, and all have had great picture and sound, and a good set of features. I really love the quick, and I mean quick, initialization of a disc when it is put into the player. From load disc to on screen in 3 seconds! Also the fast scanning with sound is a nice feature. Every connector you could want is on the back of this inexpensive unit. The fatal flaw? In any scene where the camera is panning left to right or vice versa, or the action is moving across the screen,(eg. car chase, plane flying)the image is noticeably jerky as it moves...this becomes incredibly apparent when you are aware of it. (My apologies to anyone who owns the unit and hasn't noticed this until reading this!)I tried 3 units, and they all had the same problem, so I believe it is in the manufacturing of the unit. Too bad! Other people I told this about could also see the flaw easily once I showed them what to look for. It's too bad, as this player is a winner in every other respect, but if you are particular about a good, smooth picture, look for another model.
