Hot tunes in the shower.
Pros
My honey loves this.
Cons
Not anti-fog mirror, tinny sound, CD player use will wear down batteries quicker.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This is an average stereo, which gets good radio reception. Don't count on the anti-fog mirror, you do have to wipe it.
My honey had installed this in his shower and requested we put one in mine. He loves this CD/radio player with shaving mirror incorporated into one compact unit.
THE UNIT
This stereo measures 2¼ deep by 11½ inches long by 7 inches wide. It is an AM/FM/CD player with a built in analog clock and runs on 4 C batteries. This stereo has two 2 inch splash resistant speakers at either side of the bottom. It has a "fogless" 5½ inch shaving mirror. It comes with a rope attached or it can be permanently installed with screws.
USAGE
This is a convenient little stereo, that has an expected tinny sound for a unit of this size. In the lower center is a regular clock and surrounding this clock are the CD player controls. Just above that is the analog clock. There are four control knobs, Function, Volume, Tuning and AM/FM selector. Just above them are two small buttons, one for programming and the other for display mode. I have not used the program mode, I just turn it on, and shake, rattle and roll.
After using this for 18 months, I have discovered that using the CD player draws much more power than the radio, and the batteries need to be changed more frequently. If there is little power in the battery, the CD player will not function, but it is still capable of playing the radio. If the batteries are changed and the CD still doesn't play, you probably need to clean your CD.
The "anti-fog" mirror is not anti-fog at all. It never was from the start, but it is convenient, as my honey's heavy shadow is softened in the steamy shower, making it easier for him to shave. Just give the mirror an occasional wipe.
WATER RESISTANCE/CLEANING
This stereo was installed on the opposite wall of my shower head and his was installed on the side wall of his shower. These stereos have gotten wet, but no direct stream of water flowed into them.
A damp cleaning cloth has been used to clean these stereos and has not affected the wear or finish of either. We have not sprayed cleaners into the stereo and cannot comment on that.
BOTTOM LINE
This is a mediocre water resistant stereo, with convenient features for shower usage. We've had no trouble tuning in radio stations. It would be great if the anti-fog mirror did not fog up, but it is handy to use, nevertheless.
