The Bottom Line:
Originally paid $475.00 for deck. Current total cost including the deck, shipping for repair, installation, reinstallation just above $863.00, have receipts.
I bought this product for my Chrysler Pacifica after reviewing several media alternatives. I liked the price, the features and the styling. I paid a small fortune to have it custom installed being that Pacificas are only sized for a din and a half and this deck is double din with Chrysler's lovely wiring. I was able to enjoy a few months of good operation. Then it all went downhill quickly. I followed Audiovox's (Jensen's parent company) warranty instructions to the t. After about a month and a half I finally received the deck back. I paid to have it reinstalled only to find out that several of the original problems were still there as well as some new ones. Contacted Audiovox whose response was to send it again to their repair contractor Protech. So I uninstalled and paid to ship it again to the repair shop. About a month went by without a response so I emailed them to find out what was going on. No response. I found their phone number and gave Protech a call. The receptionist was very polite and stated that the repair tech working on it was out. She also mentioned though that part of the problem was that they didn't understand some of my complaints. I used verbiage to describe the complaint right out of the instruction manual. She said it would be a few more days. I waited almost two weeks before contacting Audiovox again. I finally talked to a Teresa with Audiovox who basically insinuated that I was full of it and my problems with the deck were made up, but that they would send me a "New" deck. What I received 2 weeks later was a refurbished deck that cosmetically looked like it just came out of a teenager's car. Scratches along the top, chip out of a remote not to mention that the screen vibrates/ rattles when driving. Keep in mind I drive a Chrysler Pacifica, not their bottom end car. Contacted Audiovox right away and thought something was going to be done. Didn't hear back from them and got caught up with other things. About 3 weeks ago I sent a letter to one of their VPs Ann Boutcher requesting that they replace my current deck with the newer model to make up for the additional time and money that I've spent installing, uninstalling and shipping ask to them. I get a phone call from a Nicole who is responding to my letter and finally after playing phone tag get a hold of her. She said that they are willing to replace the deck as a courtesy even though it's out of warranty and that she had contacted Protech who said they were not able to validate all of the original problems. Originally paid about $475.00 for the deck. Current total cost including the deck, shipping to Protech for repair, installation, reinstallation costs just above $863.00, not exaggerated amount, have all of the receipts. Will not recommend Audiovox or any of their other companies.
