I installed this unit myself, which was a pretty easy task. One constant hot wire, one ignition hot wire, one ground, and two antenna wires that go into your existing radio antenna port. You do have to buy adapters for GM vehicles, because they have small tips on antennas (cost $22 at Best Buy) In the past I have used small portable "walkman" style cd players in the car running them thru the cassette player and I find lots of skip, even with 3 second memory. I therefore expected some with my Jensen unit. I installed it 4 days ago and have gone a couple hundred miles, over potholes, bumps and crowned railroad tracks. I have not yet had one skip, which makes me very impressed. I installed the unit in the very center of the vehicle as recommended. I put it on the floor center hump, under the back seat of my pickup truck. I do wish you could fast forward to a different part of a song when you are in a song. You can jump forward and backwards to different songs though. In the short time I have used this I would recommend.
