The Bottom Line:  Perhaps THE best shortwave receiver in the $8-100 range.
The manufacturing community has undergone quite a few changes in the past decade or so. While domestic production decreases, Chinese-made goods are increasing at an alarming rate. Of these items, consumer electronics is an area that is limitless in its scope...and offerings. At one time, CD players were considered a "luxury" item...and units of good quality were rather pricey. Today, a good player, Chinese-made, can be had for as little as $8. Similarly, in the 1980's, I purchased a Radio Shack DX-360 shortwave receiver for the tidy sum of $90. This was a large investment for a 16-year old with his first job. How things have changed!

The jWin JX-M14 is, for the lack of a better description, amazing. It is an AM/FM/Shortwave receiver, with digital display, alarm functions, and auto shut-off. The unit comes equipped with a 2-foot telescoping whip antenna, tilt-base, and earphone jack for private/headphone listening.

After a few evenings of use, I have successfully heard the following stations:
-BBC World Service
-WWV 10 and 15 MHz
-Radio Havana Cuba
-Radio Budapest
-Radio Taiwan International
-China Radio International
-Voice of Vietnam
-Radio Thailand
-Radio Japan
-Radio Sweden
-Korean Broadcasting Service
-Radio Marti
-Voice of Russia
-CBC Canada
-CHU Canada (7.335 MHz)
-Deutsche Welle

The performance is simply amazing for a mass-produced radio. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, digital receivers of this size were priced well into the mid $300's. In fact, this radio is VERY closely related to the Grundig G1000A...makes you wonder if jWin supplies Grundig with the innards for that radio as well.

Performance, size, and low price...the three perfect features for a radio. You can generally find them on eBay ($7-15), Amazon.com ($9.94), and elsewhere with a Google search. Try one...you won't regret it.
