Cheap price for a cheap product

Pros It's inexpensive and has lots of features.
Cons It's made cheap, has a shoddy remote and mine broke in 3 months.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Don't buy it because it is made of so cheaply.
So I didn't buy the product myself, my dad did. He bought two at about $60 each about three months ago. One still works but the one that I use broke a week ago and I don't know what to do with it. It did have some good features though.
Here's the good stuff about. It was cheap. The setup was fairly easy but even though the connections are color-coded some of the colors overlapped with only two letter abbreviations to indicate what it's for. You'll need to consult the manual to help you with that one. I tried to do it without the manual and realized I plugged it in the wrong connections. It was able to play DVDs, VCDs, WMA, MP3s, Audio CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs and JPEG photo CDs. I tried all of them so I know this device definitely plays them. The picture and sound quality was not bad. It's just as good as my old Pioneer DVD player which only played DVDs, VCDs, and CDs. The volume could be controlled through the DVD player so I didn't really have to touch the TV remote. The DVD player is NTSC and PAL compatible.
It has a sleek silver design. It doesn't take up much room because it's extremely flat. The front panel has the play/pause, open/close, stop, menu and the power key. This player also has two MIC jacks in the front for karaoke capabilities. It has Progressive scan output. The DVD system menu can be displayed in English, Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and Japanese.
I did have a problem with how cheaply the remote and remote sensor was made. The buttons on the remote frequently got stuck and the remote sensor didn't detect the remote control very well. You know when you have to bend a certain to get the remote pointing in the direction of the sensor, because that's what I had to do every single time I watched a DVD. It of course broke on me three months later. I tried to watch a DVD and the video and sound was all distorted in black and white. I pulled out another DVD to make sure the problem is the player. Lo and behold it was. I tried to switch the NTSC/PAL but that didn't work. I checked the connections and still didn't work. I tried the list in the troubleshooting section of the manual. It still didn't work so I had to get my old DVD player out to watch my movie. I'll have to call Jwin and ask about any warranty they might have. I didn't have the energy to speak with tech support.
