Cheap mouse that works well

Pros Works well, has a scroll wheel and no old-fashioned mouse ball
Cons nothing to mention here.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Perfectly good, very inexpensive mouse.  It works fine, as long as you don't depend on extra bells & whistles.
My wife needed a new mouse when the previous mouse on her computer started sending multiple 'clicks' to the computer every time she touched the left mouse button. So I went to a nearby store and got a ACCO Brands Kensington® Valu® 64381 Mouse for under $12. It was the cheapest "emergency" mouse to be found without waiting for mail-order or driving any farther than a mile. Plus it's a brand-name I trust for computer input devices. More recently, my wife got a wireless mouse, which she has already reviewed. So I inherited the ACCO Brands Kensington® Valu® 64381 Mouse to replace a mouse on my computer that was misbehaving.

The ACCO Brands Kensington® Valu® 64381 Mouse is slightly more squarish than I'm used to using, but that doesn't seem to affect the comfort of holding and using it. The ACCO Brands Kensington® Valu® 64381 Mouse is shaped so that it will fit equally well for left-hand or right-hand use. It has the standard left and right buttons, and between the buttons there is a scroll wheel which I hope never to have to do without. As is usual with scroll wheels, this one can be pressed down to click as an additional button. The ACCO Brands Kensington® Valu® 64381 Mouse connects to the computer with a USB connector, and also comes with an adapter that can plug into a PS2 6-pin mini-din connector. The ACCO Brands Kensington® Valu® 64381 Mouse is an optical mouse, there is red LED that shines on the table under the mouse, and a detector that sees the movement. No ball to collect junk and cause jerky motion. I haven't tried moving the mouse on too many different surfaces, but it has worked fine everywhere I have tried to use it.

There isn't really anything special about the ACCO Brands Kensington® Valu® 64381 Mouse, but there's certainly nothing wrong with it. It was well worth the price, and even though it was bought as an emergency replacement, it's likely to be my computer mouse for some time to come.
