A must for your favorite movies!
Pros
Sounds great, lots of hook up features, great buy
Cons
Instructions a bit confusing, clunky remote
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Yes there are others, but most are too expensive and don't offer connections that the htb-505 has or they're to cheap and have bad sound.
I have to say after buying this home theater system I am quite pleased. All my favorite DVD's sound great...I Didn't know The Matrix until I actually heard the matrix, even regular TV shows are fun to watch in Pro-Logic II. 600 watts...can't go wrong. Dolby Digital, and DTS (With proper hookups) Sound great and music is top notch. The sub-woofer delivers excellent bass, and it was the only home theater system in this price range that had all the high end connections (A/V,S-Video,Optic,and Coaxial) I'm a little weary on the reliability(as I am with all electronics) for the fact that the top of the receiver has all kinds of open slots..easy for dust, coins, water, anything that is a centimeter in size to get in to it...but I guess that's a given. This thing radiates heat like a Christmas ham believe me so I guess its a good feature. I don't have a DVD player connected just an X-Box and let me tell you games in Dolby Digital are by far better then anything you've ever heard. Its like playing an old game for the first time, or even watching an old movie for the first time. Like I said the instruction manual is a bit confusing if you never have had to hook up anything as far as a/v you might have trouble. It is in a very dry language, no examples or explanations. I also thought the receiver was broken due to the fact that I could not get Dolby or DTS with my X-box until I learned from a friend that you need a fiber Optic cable (sold Separately) connected from the X-box to the receiver. Bottom line is if this is your first home Theater system get it...its cheap in price and well worth the money.
