Great unit for the money, but it's not without flaws.

Pros Good value, deep bass, decent tuner.
Cons Only 1 optical input, no component inputs, speakers buzzed.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Great system for the value, good sound, plenty of power, easy to use. But it does lack digital and component video inputs, and mine made an audible buzzing sound.
I did end up returning this unit, but I think it's still an excellent value. It was on sale for $399 on Best Buy at the time and I'd read several good review about it, so I went ahead and bought, brought it home and set it up.

The system is packaged very nicely, one big box has 3 smaller boxes in it, one with the receiver, another with the sub and the last with the surround speakers. Instructions were complete and it was quite easy to setup. It also included all the wiring you need, but the wires are pretty much just testers, I'd recommend replacing them with something of a higher quality.

The for the test, I put in a DVD that is excellent for the surround sound experience, Saving Private Ryan and storming Omaha Beach. The bass is strong, it was enough to give off a decent vibration in the couch. Surround capabilities sounded very good too. It did a very good job of decoding the multi channel signal and sending it out to the appropriate surround speaker, or so it sounded at least. In a nut shell, great sound, lots of power and reasonably easy to use.

Now for the negative sides; it doesn't have any component inputs for your component video sources, only has 3 digital inputs, which of only one is optical. So you only need two optical audio sources to outgrow this unit, a DVD player and a HD receiver and you're done. I also detected an audible buzzing noise at low volume levels when the unit was receiving a multi channel source, which was pretty much the deal breaker for me. Maybe I just had a bad unit, but it was enough for me to start searching for a new unit while I could still return this one.

I ended up boxing this one up and taking back. Then I pieced together a mid level Sony receiver along with the Onkyo SKSHT500 surround sound speaker system. When all was said and done I think I ended up spending about $100 more on the new system. But, better sound quality, more inputs on the receiver, and no more buz.
