Commercial free is beautiful!
Pros
CD-MP3 player/Satellite Receiver at a good price. Works great, remote too.
Cons
Only color is silver. Terk rebate program is a bust.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you plan on using the MP3 and Satellite, very good choice for the price. Buy it on sale and make use of rebates!
I was attempting to resolve two issues.
1) Listening to annoying radio commercials while driving to work.
2) Replace my dial tuned am/fm cassette player in my 18' fishing boat.
When fishing at lakes, I can not always receive a strong radio signal, and the cassette player is inadequate. With careful thought and a thin wallet, my solution was to address both without going too deeply into debt.
In my 2002 Ford F-350 4x4; Circuit City installed (for free) a KRC619, a satellite antenna, and Sirius receiver mounted with velcro. They also installed (free) a KRC319 and satellite antenna in my boat. The Sirius satellite receiver can be moved from truck to boat for fishing. SWEET!
Because the boat is not a daily driver (and $100 less), I opted for the KRC319 in the boat. Only drawback, no MP3.
(Ideal world, put a KRC619 in boat too.)
The MP3 works great, no skips or errors. The Satellite radio is a truly wonderful thing! Absolute pleasure. I have noticed with the clear digital signal through the factory speakers, upgraded speakers are needed. Maybe next year.
The KRC619 has worked flawlessly. Selecting Satellite stations is very simple. I have noticed pauses in reception through large concrete bridges, but only momentary.
The Terk antenna rebate was a hassle. The Sirius rebate was processed quickly.
The color of my dashboard is black, the KRC619 is silver. Fortunately, a set of 3 silver instrument gauges mounted on the A pillar helps to offset the KRC619.
Driving to work, going camping and fishing has never been this good!
